Occidental Park Timber and Glass Pavilion
Ground Up
ARCHITECT: Olson Kundig

CLIENT: Occidental Pavilion
SCHEDULE: 36 weeks

In the heart of Seattle’s oldest neighborhood, Occidental Park in Pioneer Square has been in a state of revitalization since 2014. The latest investment—funded entirely through private donations—is the newly-opened timber and glass pavilion. This 30-by-90 square-foot structure, complete with an innovatively-designed ‘jewel box’ visitors kiosk, opened just in time to usher in a post-pandemic era of reconnection with our public spaces and each other.
